Budva is Montenegro's main beach resort town, with a small walled old town backed by a long stretch of Adriatic beaches and one of the liveliest summer nightlife scenes on the coast. It's a more party-and-beach-focused alternative to the quieter, more historic Kotor nearby.
June and September offer warm sea temperatures with lower prices than the July-August peak, when the town is at its busiest and most expensive. Budva makes an easy base for exploring both the beaches and a Bay of Kotor day trip.
