Naples Travel Guide: Flights & Hotels
Italy · NAP
Naples is chaotic, dense, and unpolished in a way that puts off some travelers and captivates others — it's also the birthplace of pizza and the main gateway to Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Capri. The historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site despite (or because of) its rough edges.
April-June and September-October avoid summer heat and the heaviest Amalfi Coast crowds. Naples' train and ferry connections make it a practical, cheaper base for day trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, or the Amalfi Coast towns.
