Prague's medieval old town, Prague Castle, and the Charles Bridge give it one of the best-preserved historic cores in Europe, and prices remain noticeably lower than in Western Europe for a comparable experience.
April-May and September offer pleasant weather with fewer crowds than peak summer; the Christmas market season in December is also popular despite the cold. The old town and Malá Strana are very walkable and put you close to most sights.
