Valletta Travel Guide: Flights & Hotels
Malta · MLA
Valletta is one of Europe's smallest capitals, a single fortified peninsula built by the Knights of Malta, dense with baroque churches and palaces and entirely walkable in a day. It also makes an easy base for exploring the rest of Malta — the Blue Lagoon, Mdina's old city, and swimming coves — all a short bus or ferry ride away.
April-June and September-October offer warm but not scorching weather, avoiding the intense July-August heat. Valletta's compact size means most visitors base themselves there or in nearby Sliema/St. Julian's and day-trip around the small island.
